gram for the country in view cf
the fact that the world is now
seething with unrest and war
seems almost inevitable in Europe
today. He pointed out ‘a strongly
defended country is urepared for
peace instead of war, and our na
tion must be guarded against at
tack, and must be able to defend
the stand we have taken on ncnu
trality with the warring nations.
Dr. MecHatton is a firm believer
in national defense and his ad
dress was timely and convincing

Mrs. Carl Saye, membership
chairman, announced that the
local auxiliary now numbers 80
paid-up members, and she urged
that the membership should use

our state legislators to do some
thing for our World War orphans,
most of whom are now in college
or ready for college.
The auxiliary, with grateful
appreciation, accepted the gift of
a bookcase from the McGregor
company for the Log Cabin.
Mrs. Hodgson brought before

ington, and the membership voiced
