engagement of their sister, Sarah |
Louise, to the Revererend John
Robert Bill, llt, The wedding to
take place in June in Charleston.
Miss Starr is a daughter of the
late Reverend and Mrs. Homer
Worthington Starr, her father hav
ing been rector of the Holy Com
‘munion in Charleston for twenty
years. She is a sister of Homer
iPilgrim Starr, studeng at the The
;o]ogieal Seminary, Alexandria, Va.
Her grandfather, Francis Ruse
' Starr was an alumnus of the Uni
verstiy of Georgia. Vhile attend
ing the University he married
Sarah Ward, daughter of Profes
sor Malthus A. Ward, professor of
botany in the University and crea
tor of the famous Athens Botani
cal gardens. He was a Chaplain
in the Confederate Army, haying
entered the army on the same day
he was ordained for the ministry,
which was also his wedding day.
Miss Starr has heen a resident
of Athens for the last five years
as Wpiscopal Student Secretary at
the University of Georgia. She
was the first president of the Ath
ens Pilot Club and is alumnae sec
retary of the Delta Delta Delta
soroirty, She attended school at
the College of Charleston where
she was a member of the Delta
Delta Delta and studied at Coluni
bia. University two summers. She
also took speeial courses in New
York in Y. W. C. A. activities
and was a Y. W. C. A. secretary
before entering the work of the
church.
A young woman of rare personal
charm and heauty, Miss Starr has
been very successful in her work
among students with whom she is
unvsually popular. She has bheen
much in demand as a speaker and
due to her gift of leadership was

ganized in 1934 and was re-elected
