Vandergriff-Mangleburg
Marriage Announced
The friends of Mr., Charles S,
Mangleburg will be interesteq to
learn of his marriage to Miss Mar
tha Vandergriff of Atlanta on
March 26th. Mrs. Mangleburg is the
daughter of Mrs. M. A. Vandergriff
of Atlanta. She is a graduate of
Fulton High school and the presgent
Worthy Advisor of Martha Rain
now Assembly.
Charles is the only son of Mrs.
Sadie Mangleburg and the late
Charles 8. Mangleburg, and the
grandson of Mrs. D, W. Jackson.
He was born and reared in Athens
where he graduated@ from Athens
High school and was also a mem
ber of Frank Hardeman Chapter,
Order of the DeMolay. For the past
several years he has been connect-
eq with Armour and Co. in the ac
counting department, in Atlanta.
Mr. and Mrs. Mangleburg will be
at home to their friends at 1292
Oak street, Atlanta.

United in Marriage With Ceremony
Taking Place at Christian Church
The marriage of Miss Ethelyn
Cook, qaughter of Mrs. Hilda Cook,
and Mr. Harry Stevens, son of Mrs.
Herschel Carithers, was a social
event of Monday afternoon, center
ing cordial interest here and
throughout the state.
The First Christian church pro
vided the setting which was beau
tifully, but simply decorated in
green ang white, carrying out the
bridal note. Ferns, garlands of
Southern Smilax, baskets of snow
balls and Easter lilies were used
in the decorations. Cathederal
candlesticks holding burning tapers
ang @ bowl of narcigs! added a deli
cate touch to the organ rail.
| The bride entered with her kins
man, Mr. George Bishop, Toccoa,
«who gave her in marriage. She
chose a supit of corn colored loose
weave, with hat and other acces
sories in copper. She wore a shoul
der corsage of orchids. The briae
chose as her only attendant her
sister, Miss Anne Cook, who serveqg
as maid of honor. Miss Cook was
becomingly gowned in a biege crepe
with a lace coat, and she used green
accessories, Her flowers were a
corsage of pink rosebuds. Mr. Her.

groom, acted as best man,

Seventh: “I wonder if he will
catch the true spirit of Christ and
hold fast to Him forever?”
Terming these the “Seven Won
ders,” Mr. R. Clayton Bowers used
them Thursday at Chase Street P.-
T. A. meeting for the basis of his
child development discussion which
was of much interest to both par
ents agnd teachers,
Mrs. Timm calleq the meeting
to order. Mrs. Smith's Sixth Grade
‘Gir]s gave devotional followed by
the Lord’s Prayer. All sang “Love’s
r()ld Sweet Song,” and “‘Sailing.”
After the secretary and treasurey
had given their reports it was
voted that the association pay for
the cement marble court. A letter
from Mr. Jack Hornsby expressing
thanks for the court was read.

the Della Prater Circle of the Wo
‘man’'s Missionary Soclety of Young
Harris church met Monday after
noon at the home of Mrs. Fred
Bell, on Dußose avenue,
The leader of the circle, Mrs.
'Knox ißrackett, presided. A short
business session was held. Mrs.
Brackett stated a nice sum ‘was
realized from the supper the circle
sponsored for the church. She also
said that Brother Hamilton urged
‘the ladies of the eircle to have
prayer meetings in the homes in
the afternoons before the revival.
~ Mrs. Lois Lindsay gave the de
‘}‘v@tional “Wle Have a Friend” and
scripture was taken from the 41st
‘chapter of Isaiah, 8-13 verses.
{ Mrs. Brackett led the obening
prayer for the Bible Study which
was brought by Mrs. Curtis Steph
‘ens in a very interesting manner.
This study was from “Songs in the
night” and will be a Council Study
Class. During the study Mrs. G. H
Bell diseussed “Have wé lost hold
on the Good Things In Life?” and
geripture was read from the book
of Lamentations by Mrs. Garnett
Bell. Mrs. Stephens discussed the
firsy two chapters “Exile” and
“Voices of the Spirit.”

Monday night at the home of Miss

The inspiring devotional on
“Prayer” and “The Crufixion of
Jesus” was presented by the teach
er, Mrs. W. C. Wiliams.

Aires; assistant secretary, Jane

were then read and approved.

trip and on their return will occupy

Mr. E. B. Mell brought g mes
sage on “Appreciation of Beauty"
to the Clark County Medical Aux
fliary Friday evening at the home
of Mrs. H. H. Cobb on Milledge
avenue.
Mr., Mell spoke of the apprecia
tion of beauty in the home, in
character, in nature, in words, and
in music. He mentioned, “I can
never be the same after seeing the
heauty in nature and character.”
Neither can we be the same after
hearing this message on the Ap
preciation of Beauty.

Hold Easter Egg Hunt
The children are reminded that
the Service [League is planning
their Easter Egg Hunt for Thurs
day afternoon at 4 o'clock in the
rear of the First Presbyterian
church, to make it one of the most
delightful affairs of the season
with the ysual happy features to
amuse them and vari-colored eggs
will be hidden among the flowers
and ghrubs, enough for everybody.
Ice cream and cake will be sola
