The conceptions of mortal, erring

Ex-Cadet, Ribbed AS Superman,
Tastes Action On Pacific Atoll
_Second Lieutenant L. C. “Pea

when 'the station wasß comrais

Lieutenant Trousdale several
weeks ago volunteered for a dan

proudly reports that he is on a
small atoll where thinge got so
hot soon after his squadron’s ar

the island for a safer spot.
~ Excerpts from a letter received
by Lieut. C. A. Burton, aide to the
{commanding officer, follow:
. “Well, I finally gdt out here and

In my present campaign for F€-nominatjy

Democratic Primary to be held Novembe, 23
have been kept at work at the cotton ginne
so much of the time that it has been impossig
for mé& to get out and see all of the voters 3
rapidly as | had hoped. 4
The shortage of labor has affected ys 4th
ginnery and in order to help the farmers get th
cotton to market as fast as they bring it in,
have had to take on other jobs at the ginnery |
addition to my own. | hope that the people
the Fifth Ward will understand the diffieyl
under which | am making this race in viey
the fact that it is impossible for me to visit the
and personally ask their support.
| do not believe that | should be out solici
ing votes and thereby causing hardships to
farmers as well as holding up, by delay at o
ginnery, the bales of cotton that otherwise woul
be on their way to be made into the necesss
materials to win the war for our country.
If | do not get an opportunity to see you,
hope you will realize that | will appreciate Yo
