Lucy Wells Talmadge.
' Mrs, Price was born June 15,
1856 at High Shoals., She was the
daughter of Isaac Lowe, pioneer
citizen of this city, and the grand
daughter of John H. Lowe, one of
the first clerks of Clarke Superior
Court, whose name appears on
many of' the early records in the
Clerk’s office in the courthouse.
She resided at Hig® Shoals until
he death of her husband in 1927
and had been a resident of Ath
ens for the past fourteen years,
during which time she endeared
herself to a large circle of f{riends
who were' deeply saddened by
news of her passing. Had Mrs.
Price lived until November 19, she
would have observed her sixty-
Inil)th wedding anniversary.

keep faith as long as I live.”
In a statement, issued last
night, he confirmed repoi‘ts that
Count Carlo Sforza, pre-Fsacist
foreign minister; Benedetto Croce,
noted Italian philosopher, and oth
er political leaders had declined to
join a government under a King
they considered tainte by Fascism.
Badoglio now has abandoned ef
forts to form a representative gov
ernment. He announced Saturday
he would set up what was desig
nated as a technical cabinet — a
mere government framework in
which minor functionaries would
carry on the necessary work until
the capital is freed.
The Premier said that Count
Sforza and others had asked not
only that the King abdicate but
that Crown Prince Umberto re
nounce the succession and that
the latter's son the six-year-old
Prince of Naples, should become
King under a regency:
Badoglio said he was forced to
refuse these conditions.
