of Miss Virginia Cunningham and
Mr. W. T. Cunningham for the

charge and is at home.

Mr. and Mrs, M. L. Lackey of
Palmetto, Fla,, announce the
marriage of their daughter, Alice
Marie, to Clifford Samuel Denny,
jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
S. Denny sr., of Athens.
T 2 ceremony was performed
on Wednesday morning, March
27, in the Emmanuel Episeopal
church. The 'Rev. David Cady
Wright, rector of the church, of
ficiated.
Lt. (j.g.) Paul Morrow served
as best man. Miss Anne Kinney
of Shellman, Ga., was maid of
honor and only attendant, she
wore a light blue dress with pink
accessories and a corsage of pink

The bride was given in mar
riage by ha uncle, Charles
Lackey of ' Palmetto, Fla., and
chose for her wedding a navy
blue dress with black accessories,
a corsage of gardenias completed
her costume.
Immediately after the ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Denny left for a
wedding trip to Sea Island, Ga.
Billy Gillen made a business trip
to Washington, D. C., this week.
Mrs. Albert Jones spent sev
eral days this week in Atlanta.
Dr. and Mrs. E. J. Maxwell of
Atlanta, spent the week-end with
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Maxwell, sr;
prior to Dr. Maxwell leaving for
San Antonio, Texas, where he
will assume duties with the
