Red Cross Pays Tribute To Service . ..,
Of Volunteer Nurse's Aide Corps
“Nurse’s Aides may rightfully

them,” stateq Basii O’Connor,
American National Red Cross
Chairman, in a written tribute to
the wartime se-vice of the Vol

Today, May 12, is the birthday
of Florence Nightingale, the
promoter of female nursing in
war and whose work in tae Cri

Red Cross Societies throughout
the world. Today we pay trib

shared dyeply the experienhces

the anxiety, the pain, and glory.
Thev did not sidestep their ob
ligations to their community and
ration at war, and they are wo
men who will continue to do
their part in a world at ))ouw,l
