"Buzzy is a star night club enter

puzzy falls foul of an under

The' plan of Buzzy’s spirit is to
have Edwin impersonate Buzzy
at the night club and eventually
encompass the downfall of Ten
Grand. This arrangement plays
hovac with the %two romances.
Force of circumstances sometimes
drive Edwin to behave like a lun
atic, especially when Buzzy’s
spirit sometimes turns up 'ate and
leaves Edwin dangling helplessly
as himself when he’s supposed to
be Buzzy.
~ The uproarious climax of the
picture find Edwin masquading.
as a grand opera baritone! It
clears ub most of the complica

fied to return to the place it
should never have left in the first
instance, leaving Edwin to resume
Kis normal placid life.

Dr. Ester Phipard
Addressed Science
{Club Friday Night
“Food deficits in providing
enough food to sustain life for
several million people in the war
torn countries are described in
terms of calories and not in vita
mins,” Dr. Esther F. Phipard,
food economist with the Bureau
of Human Nutrition and Home
lEconomics, said Friday night in
‘an address to the Science Club of
'the University of Georgia in Daw
son Hall.
The Department of Agriculture
specialist pointed out that in many
cases the people of Europe will be
living on starvation diets this
year. Some, she said, will live on
1,500 calories per day per person
with the average at about 2,000
calories. The average intake level
in the United States based on the
Recommended Dietary Allowanczes
of the National Research Council
would be 2,600 to 2,700 calories,
but on a retail level, the supplies
provide over 3,300 calories per
person. |
-Speaking on “Nutrition in a
World Striving for Peace,” Dr.
Phipard listed the effects of pro
longed undernourishment. Child
ren fail to grow normally, illness
increases, and civil unrest de
velops, she stated. The Food and
Agricultural Organization is at
tempting to compare available |
world food supplies with the esti
mated food needs, and formulate
a world balance sheet. This or
ganization is not only concerned
with enough, but is also consider
ing the long-term program, and is
concerned with raising the nu
tritional levels the world over in
the interests of better health and
prosperity and a greater enjoy
ment of life, she concluded.
Dr. Phipard was introduced by
Dr. Guy V. Rice of the State De
partment of Health. Members of
the quantity cookery ‘class of the
School of Home Economics serv—
ed a dinner in honor of the guest
speakers.
