vious employment in jobs that
come under social security and
the amount of wages earned on
suca jobs.
“Every worker who is 65 or
older and who stops work even
if only for a shor. time, should
find out immediately whether
ne is already ‘insured’ and eli
gible for payments under the
Social Security Aect,” Mr, Mec-
Cants continued. ‘“The Athens
field cffice, or any otaer field
oilice of the Social Security
Eoard, is glad to helpy individuals
find out whether they are ‘in
sured’ and, if not, how much
longer they must work on jobs
that come under social security
in order to become- insured.”
Mr. McCants explained that
old-age insurance payments may
be made so insureg werkers gver

siopped work permanently. The
payments maye be made during
months when the worker is un
emnployed, is ill, eains lesg than
sis. or is at work on jobs that
do not come under social secur
ity. If the individuai goes back

fies the Social Security Board
and wis payments arc suspended
until he starts . werk again. If

surance payments for the same
