go through a full scuedule the
first day. -
with the exception of Kinder
parten and .the First and Sec
ona grades, which will get ut at
12:30 p. m., the other elemen
sarv grades will get out at 2:30
p m.. while Junior Higa and
Genior High will, dismiss at

Registration dates are Sep
tember 5 and 6, from 9 am. to
5 p. m,, and pupils will register
at school buildings where they
will attend classes. No registra
tion will be held during school
hours on the opening day of
school.
Teachers will report to their
respective schools on September
9 at 9 a. m, for a week of plan
ning and organization work.
A general faculty meeting will
be held on Wednesday afternoon,
September 4, at Barrow School.

Sellers, director of women’s
housing and activities here for
{he past several years, has been
granted an indefinite leave of
apbsence to work for her Mas-~
ter's degrea at the University of
Chicago.
Miss Sellers has received a
scholarship from Caicago, and
will maijor in College Personnel
work. She came to Atheng 12
years ago to found the Alpha
Delta Pi social sorority, and
later becamn secretary to the
Dean of Women Students. After
Dean Tate assumed jurisdiction
cver women students, she was
cievated to the position she held
until Chicago tendered her the
ccholarship.
After completing her studies,
Miss Sellere will leturn to the
University of Georgia.

Miss Frances Elizabeth White
head, 19-year-old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lon F. Waitehead,
well known Bogart residents,
died in a local hospital Friday
afternoon at 5 o’clock after an
illness of several weeks.

Dot Philpot Dance
School Opens For
Fall September 2
With an enrollment of more than
one hundred expected, the regular
Fall opening of the Dorothy Phil
pot Dance School will be held on
September 2 at the studio located
at 160 Hampton Court. ;
1 The School is operated by Miss
Dot Philpot, with Mrs, Wed Barber
as accompanjst, and is starting its
fifth yéar. The 'school accepts
pupils of any age and specializes
in tap and ballet instruction.
During the summer months Miss
Philpot gttends schools of dancing
instruction in various cities and
lmetrnpolitan centers to keep pace
with modern methods of teaching
dancing.

visit with their parents, Mr. and

Toccoa, Clarkesville, and Green
ville, North Carolina.

Whitehead was a 3 member of
First Methodist Church here and
took an active interest in the
affairs of the youngz people of
that congregation. She will be
greatly missed by the many
