terday suffering, from cuts and
bruises when the car in which
they were riding, hit the right
shoulder of the road and skidded
across the highway to crash into

Oldest Chevrole! Truck Still Being
Used Will Bring Owner Rich Award
Owners of early model Chevro
let trucks in North Georgia were
| invited today. by Durward Wat- ‘
son, president of the University
Chevrolet Co. to participate in a [
nationwide search by the Chevro
let Motor Division to locate the
oldest Chevrolet truck still in ac- |
' tive service in the United States.
“‘The owner of the oldest truck
will be presented with a brand
ynew Advarice-Design Chevrolet
truck and may choose any stan
!dard model in the current line of
| Ghevrolet commercial cars and
| trucks,” Mr Watson said.
i Trucks entered in the search
must be driven to a Chevrolet
‘ dealership, where official entry
| blanks are available, The search
| ends June 15, 1947, and the win
| ner will be notified on or before
June 20, 1947.
’ “We have a large number of
old Chevrolet trucks still in ev
' everyday service in Athens area,”
]Mr Watson said, “and the win
ning vehicle may be on a farm or
|engaged in some other hauling
. work right in our own communi
| ty.”
The winning truck, Mr. Watson
said must carry 1947 license
plates. The' oldest Chevrolet |
truck will be determined by the
earliest serial numbers. In cases
where the serial number is lostl
or illegible, the number may be
(established by an original bill of
'sale or other legal documents }
showing the original serial num
ber.
.~ Entries must be filed with a
Chevrolet dealer by midnight
June 15 Mr. Watson -emphasized.

Reese Mac Butler, 42, died
unexpectedly av Claytion, Ga,
Friday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock.
Services are to be held Sunday
afternoon at 3:30 o¢”clock from
Mar’s Hill Baptist Church with
the pastor, Rev. R. E. Carter, of
ficiating.
Burial will follow in Mars Hill
cemetery, pall-bearers to be an
nounced later by Clyde McDor
man Funeral Home, in charge of
arrangements.

wife, Mrs. Inez T. Butler, Clay
ton; two sisters, Mrs. B. F. Du-

A native of Htatham,.Mr. Butler

for thirty years before moving to

last eleven years.
A member of Mars Hill church,
Mr. Butler wa§ well. known
throughout this section and had
a large number of friends who‘
