4. The said corporation will
have no capital stock. The object,
of said corporation is not profit‘
or pecuniary gain by its members,
but is to promote the physical and
moral welfare of the student body
of The University of Georgia
by encouraging participation in
health exercise, recreation, athle
tic games and contests, and for
that purpose to erect a stadium
or stadia and other suitable build
ings; to provide adequate equip
ment for its members participating
in such exercise, games and con
tests; to arrange and hold athletic
contests in-its own stadium or
buildings or in the stadia or build
ings of others; and to charge fees
of admission to such games and
contests in order to defray the
expense of said corporation and to
accomplish its purpose.
5. Applicants specify as one of
ulxe charter conditions to which
all membership in said corporation
shall be subject, that wupon the
death, resignation or expulsion of
any member, or the termination of
his membership for any cause
whatsoever, all his right and in
terest in said corporation shall
cease, so that neither he nor his
heirs, assigns or representatives
shall have any interest in or claim
upon any of the property of said
corporation or its funds or income,
whether previously or subsequent
ly acquired nor be entitled to de
mand or receive any dividend or
distributive share thereof whether
declared or distributed during the
existence of said association or
upon its dissolution, provided that
nothing herein contained shall im
pair the right of any person ceas
ing to be a member or to hold or
enforce against said association
any bond or other debt incurred !
by the association upon or for a
consideration other than that of
membership therein. !
6. Applicants desire for said |
corporation authority to own stock
in other, corporations and to dis
pose of such stock at pleasure,
subject to the limitations imposed
by the Constitution of Georgia;!
and the power to issue such notes,
bonds or other evidences of debt‘
as it may desire and to secure them
by mortgage, deed of trust, or oth-i
er appropriate instrument upon
any realty, personalty or other‘
property it may own; and the pow
er to own, dispose of, sell and con
vey any or all of its said property
at its pleasure. |
7. Applicants desire for said
corporation, in order to effectuate
its purposes, the power to réceive
donations by gift or will. X

corporation the right to accept
amendments to its charter, either
in matters of form or of sub
stance, by a majority vote of its

jority vote of its diredtors to sur
render its charter and wind up its
affairs at any time that it may de
site.
9. Wherefore applicants pray
that the earlier charter of the cor
poration be revived and that ap
plicants and their associates and
successors be incorporated under
the name and style aforesaid with
all the rights and privileges herein
set out and such additional powers
and privileges as may be neces
sary, proper, or incident to the
conduct of the business for which
applicants are asking incorpora
tion, and as may be allowed like

Negro Boy Sentenced
To Die In Electric
Chair In Court Here
Willie James Edwards, color-"
ed, was found guilty yesterday of
the murder of George Harvey,‘
jr., colored. The defendant was
senteneed to die in the electric‘
chair at Reidsville on June 11.
A motion for mnew trial has
been filed in the case, and the
motion is scheduled to come up
on May 22.
Jack Hillsman, colered; . was
convicted of, assault with intent
to murder Bessie Harris, colored.
He was sentenced to. serve 12
months in Public Works Camg
after completing a formner sen
tence of four to six years in the
State Penitentiary on .a similar
charge.
- Ben Crawford, colored, was
found guilty on two charges yes-1
terday. For the first, assault with
‘intent to.murder Ike Elder, col
tflred,l he ‘was sentenced te-serve
'two years minimum and two
| years maximum in the State
IPenitentiar‘y. On the second
' charge, carrying a pistol without
a license, he was sentenced 1o
serve 12 months in Public Works
'Camp after completion of the
two year sentence. |

M. Fendley Are
Held Here Thursday
Services were conducted from
Clyde McDormaun Funeral Home
Chapel Thursday for Felix M.
Fendley, of Grove Hill, Ala,, who
died Tuesday night at the home
of his son, Jerry C. Fendley, on
Boulevard. Mr. Fendley was
77 years old and had been ill
for a year.
Conducting the service was
Mrs. L. M. Shadgett, Christian
Scientist, of which church Mr.
Fendley was a member.
The body was sent to Fulton,
Ala . Friday afternon where ser
vices and burial are to be held
in Bass Creek cemetery Sunday.
Mr. Fendley is survived by his
wite, Mrs. Lizzie W. Fendley;
son, Jerry C. Fendley, Athens;
three daughters, Mrs. W. G.
