Miss Hazel Poss To Play Role In Mozart's
Impresario, May 26th In Philadelphia
Miss Hazel Poss, former Ath
enian, now residing in New
York City, will play the role of
Mademciselle Ulich in the Op
era, “Impresario,” by Mozart,
which will open in Philadelphia
on Friday, May 26. |
“Impresario” is being present
ed by the Philadelphia Conser
vatory of Music under the direc
tion of Enzo Serafine. In the role
of Mademoiselle, Miss Posz im
personates the great Cavaliri
from La Scala in Rome. She has
given a number of concerts in
and around New York for the
past season. Plans are now
being made for concert appear
ances in colleges of the Eost this
Spring and Fall.
Miss Poss is the daughter of
Mrs. J. C. Poss of this city. She
is a graduate of the Atheny{
High School and the University
of Georgia, while in the Univer

Byington To Wed June 20 In Bishop

The bridegroom-elect is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. George Nel
son Byington of Augusta. He
received his Bachelor of Arts
Degree from the University of
Georgia and will receive his Di
vinity Degree in June from the
Candler School of Theology,
Emory University. He is pastor
of the Mount Gilead-Owl Rock
Methodist Churches.

Church in Jacksonville, Fla,
Miss Fortson's mother is the
former Miss Nellie Phinizy, dau-
ghter of Mrs. Billups Phinizy and
the late Mr. Phinizy of Athens.
Miss Fortson attended the Uni
versity of Georgia and was a.
member of the Phi Mu sorority,
Mr. Douglas is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Barclay Leopold Doug
las of Savannah. He is a graduate
of the University of Georgia and
was a member of the Chi Phi fra
ternity. At present Mr. Douglas
is connected with the Chamber
of Commerce in Augusta.

beginning Sunday afternoon,
May 23rd, at 3:00, and each eve
ning at 8 o'clock running
through Thursday, May = 27th.
Rev. E. C. Comfort will conduct
a series of Bible Studies,
Mr. Comfort was here some
weeks ago and delighted the
audiences that the College ar
ranged for a return engagement
of five days.
The public is cordially invited
to hear Mr. Comfort. He will
also speak Thursday afternoon
at 5 p. m. over WGAU. I
Mr. Comfort is a student of
the Bible and presents truth in a
most attractive and appealing
manner, He has the happy fac
