Lord of hosts! My soul longeth,
yea, even fainteth for the courts
of the Lord: my heart and my
flesh crieth out for the living
God.” (Psalms 84: 1,2).
The Lesson-Sermon also in

Ouistanding Bull

University Of Ga.
The outstanding Jersey bull,
Longed For Sparkling Sir, has
ben donated ‘to the Animal Hus
bandry Department of the Uni
versity of Georgia by Mrs. Eliza
beth Poe, owner of Pebble Hill |
Plantation at Thomasville, Geor- |
gia, and Mr. Herman F. Heep of ‘
Austin, Texas. This is a 5-Star |
bull with 26 Credits. ' |
The University is particularly
glad to have this bull to head
the Jersey herd because of the
fact that he is sired by Long
Longed For Sir Standard, the
Superior Sire bred and qualified
under the direction of Dr.” Mil
ton P. Jarnagin, Head of the
Animal Husbandry Department.
This is the only Superior Sire
bred and qualified by any edu
cational institution.
The dam of the bull is Xenia's
Sparkling Ivey, frequently re
ferréd to as Mother Superior.
She is probably the greatest
brood cow that has lived during
the past quarter of a century.
She is the dam of 3 full brothers,
all of which have been qualified
as Superior Sires, and all of
them have been officially clas
sified Excellent. One of these
bulls sold for $25,000 which is
still a record price for an Amer
ican bred Jersey bull. A 4th
son now heads the Tatnall Prison
Farm herd. He sold for $5,000
when cattle were cheap. Longed
For Sparkling Sir is the last son
of this great old cow. In addi
tion to the 5 bulls, Xenia’s
Sparkling Ivey produced some
outstanding females. Longed For
Sparkling Sir is a 5-year-old
bull. The classification and pro
duction records of his daughters
should qualify him as a Superior
Sire by the time he is 6 years
old. He should add a great deal
to the value of the good Jersey
herd owned by the University.
BRITAIN’S HOSPITAL
STAFFS INADEQUATE .
LONDON-—(AP) — Minister of
Health Aneurin Bevan reports
that the shortage of attendants is
seriously crippling Britain’s hos
pital services. At one time, he
says, 61,146 hopital beds ' were
vacant because of staff short
ages.
BRITISH DIVORCE
LONDON. — (AP) — British
courts granted 54,768 divorce de
crees in the past year.
Cream puffs may be filled with
vanilla ice cream and topped
