Miss Sara Attaway Became Bride Of Mr.
James Kidd In Recent Ceremony
At Presbyterian Church In Wrens, Ga.
WRENS, Ga. — At a beautiful
ceremony Miss Sara Elizabeth
Attaway became the bride of
James Kidd, of Athens, at the
Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in
Wrens.
The church-altar was banked
with ferns and palms that were
fronted with a massive arrandge
ment of white gladioli. Burning
tapers in tiered candelabrum il
luminated the scene, emphasiz
ing the loveliness of the church
interior.
Preceding the ceremony, Miss
Helan, pianist, Rufus H. Groover,
violinist, and James Griffeth, so
loist, rendered a musical pro
gram. _
Dr. M. R. Phoxico, of Louis
ville, officiated.
Serving as wusher grogmsmen
were John Kilgore, jr., of Staple
ton, Bill Jones and A. P. Jones,
jr, of Louisville, and Roger At
taway, jr., of Wrens.
Miss Adna Attaway was her
sister’s maid of honor. She was
gowned in blue tulle over taffeta
and her flowers were a colonial
nosegay of pink and white
carnations. She wore a bonnet of
matching tulle.
The bridesmaid, Miss Virginia
Hadden, of Louisv;’flle,.wore pink
tulle over pink taffeta, fashioned
like that of the maid of honor.
Her flowers were carnations tied
with blue ribbons and she wore

have been completed, The cere
mony will take place on Thurs
day, August 19, at five-thirty in
the afternoon at the First Metho
dist church, with the Rev. J. W.
O. McKibben officiating,
Mrs. Katie Griffeth, organist,
will present the nuptial music and
James Griffith, scoist is to sing.
L. G. Aspinwall will be the
best man and the ushergrooms
men include Joe Greigs, Charles
McKelver, Jim Hagan and Bob
Griffith,
Mrs. Harold Hoover, of Chatta
nocga, Tenn., cousin of the bride,
is to be the matron of honor and
Patsy Hogan, the fiower girl.
The bride will be given in mar
riage by her brother, Thomas
Grady Lovern, jr.
After the ceremony the out-of
town guests, immediate family
and close friends are invited to
a reception at the home of Mrs.
H. H. Cobb on Milledge avenue.
Miss Twyla Reddish, sister of
the groom, is to keep the bride’s

Series of Farties
Miss Lovern has been honored
at a series of partles, Mrs. Frank
Cleveland, Mrs. Hugar Wilkes and
Mrs. A. H. Timm gave a miscel
-leaneous shower. Miss Celestia
Purcell entertained with a linen
shower and Miss Sally Orr hon
ored the bride-elect at a supper
party.

dles in silver candelabra were
gracefully arranged around the
lafge cake that was ornamental
with a miniature bride and
groom.
The bride’s book was kept by
Miss Dorothy Bush, of Atlanta.
After the reception, Mr. and
Mrs. Kidd left for a wedding trip
to Florida. The bride traveled in
a smart cream suit, matching
wide brim milan hat and brown
accessories.
The attractive couple is now
residing in Monroe.
