Bulwinkle Bill
- ATLANTA, Nov. S—(AP)-—The
new Democratic Gist Cougress to
day had a request for immediate
repeal of the Bulwinkle Bill. ‘
The appeal was made by
Georgia Attorney-General Eugene
Cook, who described the measure
as “nothing more than a license
to violate the Sherman Anti-Trust
Laws.”
~ In his request, Cook called at
tention to the great popular vote
‘endorsement of President Truman,
‘who vetoed the bill. The veto was
overridden by the 80th Congress.
- He also pointed out that the Re
publican - dominated Congress,
which passed the Bulwinkle Bill,
was “decimated by the aroused
voters.” He charged the bill was
ldesigned to kill Georgia’s freight
rate case before the U. S. Supreme
Court. ‘
. The case was carried direct to
the high court, accusing 20 rail
roads of conspiracy to violate the
anti-trust laws by establishing dis
&fmamte;;ywmlht rates. The
