Ceorgia won from it's oldest gridiron rival, Auburn, in Colum
bus Saturday 42-14 to lay heavier claim to the conference cham
pionship. The Bulldogs however must dispose of Furman Uhi
versity and Ceorgia Tech on successive Saturdays at Sanford
Field before the coronation of a King for the Southeastern.
Sports authorities like Johnny Bradberry and Guy Tiller pro
claimed the Bulldogs so completely dominated the ball against
Auburn that they were forced to punt only once and that the
passing perfection of John Rauch and line plunges of Joe GCeri
kept Georgia on the victory road. ;

WALLACE BUTTS said today that John Rauch was an All-Amer
ican quarterback, “"He's just the best quarterback in football.
That's all.”” Whether or not Johnny gets another mention, as
far as Georgia fans are concerned it's “official”’.
COACH EARL BROWN of Auburn rated the Bulldog aggrega
tion a better team than Ceorgia Tech. He was high in his praise
of Porter Payne, Bernie Reid, Homer Hobbs and Nick Feher as
well as Rauch and Ceri,
