Dean Chapman Asserts
Dairy Production Depends On
Cooperation Of City Slickers
COLUMERIA, S. C.,, Nov. 18.-—
{AP) —Development of milk pro
duction ‘' in “the nation’s No, 1
dairy region,” depends on co
operation from the city slickers.

University of Georgia’s College
of Agriculture made this sum
mary of the Southern milk cow’s
outlook in a talk prepared for
delivery at a South Carolina
Dairy Association meeting here
today. -
“Farmers cannot produce any
product without having a good
market,” Chapman said. “It is
the duty and responsibility of
town and city people to provide
these markets” providing pro
cessing plants.
Chapman said the humid cli
mate of the Southeastern stdtes
of the Carolinas, Tennessee( Ar
kansas, northern Louisiana, Mis
sissippi, Georgia and Alabama
made - year around milk produc
tion possibie.
“This is the only section (of
the nation) that can grow graz
ing crops 365 days of the year,”

Mrs. Sailors opened the meet
ing by bringing some inspiring
thoughts on “The Great Commis
sion of Teaching” given to us by
Jesus. Mrs. E. B. Cc¢ile led in
prayer,
The teachers present from the
Department were Mrs. Wheeler
Hawkins, Mrs. D. N. Schultz, Mr.
Lecnard Cooper and Mr. Bowles.
Each teacher gave a report on
their class.
Plans were made and discuss
ed for. a .Christmas party to be
given in ¥ellowship Heoll for the
Intermediates, the date to be an
nonuced later.
The business session was
closed with prayer by Mrs.
Schultz.
