Dairymen Conclude 7th
Annual Short Course Here
“Primary factors which will ef
fect future milk prices are con
sumer income, available supply,
and ability of the industry te meet
the increasing costs and maintain
profitable sales prices,” James E.
Jackson, executive director of the
Georgia Dairy Association, said to

Thanksgiving
Fire Safety
Rules Given
If you escaped a fire in your
home during the past year, you
have a special reason for being
grateful this Thanksgiving Day,
Fire Chief W. C. Thompson re
minded residents of Athens today.
Chief Thompson said figures re
leased by Fire Protection Institute,
national safety reesarch organiza

can families suffered fire damage
in their home during the past
twelve months.
Check Homes
The Chief suggested that all lo
cal residents check their homes for
fire hazards and install approved
fire-fighting equipment, ‘“before
the hustle and bustle of the holi-
day season makes you forget about
the common sense of fire safety.”
Three pre-holiday fire safety
rules were outlined by the Chief:
1. Be sure all your heating
equipment is in top operating con

2. Remove all rubbish from
cellars and attics.
3. Check your present fire ex-
