Board of U, S. Civil Service Ex
aminers at the Local Post Office.
The positions are located in the
Atlantic Division of the Geologi
cal Survey which is comprised of
all states east of the Mississippi
River except Michigan, Illinois,
and Wisconsin. Salaries range
from $2,152 to $2,974.80 per an
num.
No written test is required in
this examination. Applicants will
be rated on the basis of experi
ence and on education.

'o’clock at the home of a son, F.
Y. Simmons, in the Diamond Hill
|community in Madison county,
| Mrs. Simmons was 91 years old
and was ill for several days.
Services are to be conducted
Friday afternoorr at' 2 o’clock
from Ebenezer Church in Clark
esville, Ga., with burial follow
ing in Ebenazer cemetery. Grapd
sons and sons-in-law will serve
as pallbearers and Bernstein Fu
neral Hoeme is in charge of ar
rangements. .
She is suivived by iwo sons, F.
Y. Smimons nad J. M. Simmons,
Athens; sister, Mrs. Washie Riv
ers, Charleston, S. C.; eight grangl
childrei: and nine great-grand
children.
A native of Charleston, S. C,,
Mrs. Simmons had resided in
Clarkesville nearly all of her life.
She was a memper of the KEpis
copal Church.

leather purses and bill-folds, and
a variety of drawings, paintings,
and prints. The jury consisting of

high artistic quality of the offer
ings. The public should find a wide

sale. The hours of the sale are
from 7 until 10 o’clock on Monday

GENEVA, Switzerland—(AP)—
The lost border between France
and Switzerland has been found
and marked and everybody is
happy aagin. Some farmers who
thorught they were Swiss are pay
ing French taxes now and some
who thought they were French
now find their farms are in Swit
zerland. The correction was made
after more than 100 years of un
certainty along the Jura mountain
frontier of western Switzerland.
It involved a stretch of about fif
teen miles.
The frontier was fixed in 1824,
