‘ “Rosa and Randy” by Kather
!ine Wigmore Eyre is a ranch sto
ry of a boy named Randy who
worked hard to help his veteran
father since they were newcomers
to a ranch and Rosa, a little girl
iwho lived on a neighboring
'ranch. Boys or girls will enjoy
this story.
| Boys, you will enjoy reading
'about Chaptain Bob Bartlett and
Harold McCracken’s expedition to
|the Arctic in a schooner. They
had a delightful mascot along, an
English dog named Toughy. The
’title of the book is “Toughy” by
Harold McCracken.
} And girls, we have your horse
I story. The title is “Red Embers”
Iby Dorothy Lyons. It is a swift
'moving story of a girl who trains
|polo ponies and plays an excellent
' game as well. U
Actually it was an island, but
the title of the story is “The In
visible Island” by Dean Marshall.
Here the Guthries were “Cast
away on a desert island” which
they named invisible. Here are
summertime, the out-of-door and
“make believe” all woven into a
story of exceptional beauty.
A lush green world of track
less swamp, habitat of alligator,
cotton-mouth and myriad wild
fowl — this was the only world
Clint Sheppard knew. The boy’s
only friend is a Seminole, his only
pleasure their collecting trips
into the great swamp. The title
of the exciting story is “Swamn
Roy” by M. B. Cormacks and P.
L. Bytovetzski. This is truly a
story of the Okefinokee Swamp
in Georgia.
