Dinner Party
Genial Civy President, Robert
D. Hamilton, called to order his
clan of fifty-one ®~ Civitan Club
| members Monday night for an
evening of Christmas hilarity.
Jovial and chief meal provider,
Civy Club member, Ray Ross, of
the Holman Hotel staff, served
| generously a most appetizing
| turkey dinner with nothing left
lout except the “spirits.”
The wholesame meal plus a se
,lected program arranged by Bill
‘ Duncan and F. Lamar Lewis, pro
| gram committeemen for the club’s
Isessions. set the stage for a real
eat (not drink) and be merry so
cial evening.
Groups of the fellows, engaged
in toy water-pistol battles, music
'making pretension with toy musi
cal instruments, which were plac
ed under the Christmas tree by
each attending member and later
packed for delivery to the Salva
tion Army for distribution to
children, displayed their ability
“to turn back time in its flight
and to become boys just tonight.”
Chorus leader, Billy Christian,
{of the First Baptist Church, ac
companied at the piano a half
dozen youn lady members, a part
of the church’s youth chorus
{ group, in the rendition of a half
ldozen Christmas songs. Mr.
Christmas and the young ladies,
Misses Delores Martin, Carolyn
Getzman, Nancy Whitworth, Eliz
abeth Honea, Judy Adams and
Jane McMullan, delighted the
club members with their pleasing
songs in that portion of the eve
ning's planned program.
Civitan Stacy L. Bowen pre
sented his visitor, Richard L.
Bowen, h®s son and a student at
the University of North Carolina.
Honorary member of the club
Malcolm Ainsworth, Secretary of

Remembrance
When a memorial is pleasing in con
tour and beautiful in enrichment it is
a tribute to remembrance which justi
fies the time and consideration neces
sary to produce it. When it is exe
cuted in a material that has withstood
the test of time it is a monument to
perpetuate a name for posterity.
sk TN
Appropriateness of design, careful se
lection of material and skill in fabrica
tion all insure a distinctive memorial.
| These are assured to you by this or
) ganization.
the Athens Chamber of Com
merce, was present to the group.
Officers for the calendar year,
1948, serving the Athens Civitan
Club can be justly pround of the
quality of the club’s bi-monthly
sessions and programs of inspira
tion, infgrmdtion and genuinely
fine social fellowship for the
membership and their visitors.
