CHRISTIAN SCIENCE l
LESSON-SERMON
Services of Christian Science
Society are held in the Georgian
Hotel Sunday mornings at 11:15
o’clock.. Subject of today’s Lesson-
Sermon, is “Life.” |
Sunday School 9:45 a. m. Wed-~
nesday evening meetings, includ
ing testimonies of healing through
Christian Science, are held at the
Georgian Hotel on the first Wed
nesday of each month at 8 o’clock.
The public is cordially invited.
Among the- citations which
comprise the Lesson-Sermon is
the following from the Bible:
“And this is life eternal, that they
might know thee the only true
God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou
hast sent.” John 17:3.
.~ The Lesson-Sermon also includ
es the following passage from the
Christian Science textbook, “Sci
ence and Health with Key to the
Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy:
“‘This is Life,’ says Jesus—is, not
shall be; and then he defines ever
lasting life as present knowledge
of his Father and of himself,—the
‘knowledge of Love, Truth, and
Life. ‘This is life eternal, that they
‘might know Thee, the only true
God, and Jesus ' Christ, whom
‘Thou hast sent’” The Scriptures
'say, ‘Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that
proceedeth out of the mouth of
God, showing that Truth is the
actual life of man; but mankind
objects to making this teaching
practical.” Page 410.

Revival Ends
With Service Today
The Hendley revival being con-l
ducted in the city comes to a close
today with two services, one at
3:00 p. m. this afternoon and one‘
at 7:30 this evening at the Boule
vard Baptist Church. |
The members of the church ap
preciate the interest that is being
taken in these services and espe
‘cially the many who have been
present from the other denomina
tions in the city.
The auditorium has been taxed
to seat the audience each evening
despite the extra seats that have
been placed. In fact many have
had to occupy the steps leading up
into the balconies.
’ When Mr. Hendley again returns
to Athens it is hoped to secure an
lauditorium that will accomodate
the many who will want to hear
| him.
Owen Heard of Atlanta, will
continue to lead the song service
and the enthusiasm which has
characterized the singing by the
audience has been one of the out
|standing features of this series of
‘meetings.
Dr. Hendley is giving his entire
time now to evangelistic work hav
ing given up the pastorate of the
Colonial Hill Baptist Church in
Atlanta in order that he might
accept the many invitations that
come from all over the country for
ievangelistic meetings.
He goes from here to Pensacola,
Florida and then te Miami. Flori
da and then to 4 city wide evange=
listic union meeting in Newark,
.Ohio.
