Mr. Titon added that he first be
came interested in archaeology
when he discovered a pair of gold
earrings in the Judean Hill about
19 miles from Jerusalem. Shortly
ihereafter, he said, his discovery
of three caves in a Hittite village
inhabited about 2000 B. C. yielded

The Jewish archeologist made
his excursions alone. He attri

~ln Memoriam
In sad but loving memory of
our darling husband and daddy,
J. T. Shepherd, who passed away
February 19, 1948,
Daddy dear has crossed the River,
Left us standing on the shore;
Gone to join the loved ones
Who have gone on before.
A devoteg husband, a loving
daddy, too,
A precious jewel rare;
Heaven’s Throne we know is
. brighter, :
Since your loving spirit is there,
The days are slowly passing,
And we have missed you so;
The sorrow that our hearts have
, kirown,
No one will ever know.
The days are slowly passing,
'The nights are long and lonely,
too;
Our hearts don’t sing as they
once did,
Because we den’t have you.
Years may wipe out many things,
But this they’ll wipe out never;
The memory of those happy days
‘We spent down here together.
Yes, memories, oh, so sweel and
tender,
Set my longing soul aflame;
And tears {low down my cheeks
| unbidden
When I hear your precious name.
Soon our journey will be ended,
And this sad life will be o'er;
Then we’ll all be reunited
On that happy golden rhore.
WIFE AND CHILDREN.
