vice today of the Prince Avenue
Bapiist Churcn wiii o highly de
lighted with the “new lcok™ which
has been given the auditcrium and
vestibules,
.. Recently the interior of the au
-ditorium has been redecorated, in
cluding new urg;u on the floor.
Mr. Haroid G. Wescolt, interior
Jecorator connected with the Uni
varsity of Georgla was employed
by the church to work out color
*seheme. Conventional ideas have
not been followed. The color
scheme has been worked out
functionally, The auditorium be
ing irregular in arrangement, col
ors were used to orgamze the va
rious areas. Blue-gray was used
to enclose the choir platform and
serve as a contrast so the white
robes. The light buff in back of
the pulpit serves to concentrate
the attention of the audience on
the tfiulpit. The pale iemon yellow
or. the window walls was used to
anliven the auditorium with color
without attraeting too much at«
tention, and also as a means of
reducing the ‘glare from the win
dows. Gray draperies on all the
windows serve to rualify and soft
en the light. The cool gray car
peting serves : enrich the color
ol the benches. The golden yellow
of the velvet .urtains over the
baptistry and door centers interest
on the pulpit.
This color scheme serves to
create an atmosphere cf worship
which one cannot help but feel
upon entering the auditorium.
More than a.year ago the church
purchased 3 Hammond Electric
O:gan,‘and this Organ will be
d icat‘d to the service of the
Lord, along with thé redecorated
auditorium. The g.ogram of the
day will consists of song sermons
and a very brief message by the
pastor.
The melic is extended a cordial
invitation to join the church
membership. in the inspiration of
this service. !

Please, Mr. Motorist, will you
think for kids? They’re young and
the Safety Education Division of
the Georgia State Patrol reminds
us they "don’t always think for
themselves in traffic. They have
a lot else on their minds as they
go to and from school. Don’t let
your car turn a bright future into
a tragic past. Give the kids their
right-of-way to long life.

E)hnlly installed into Georgia Eta
apter of Nu Phi Mu Sorority at

ny at the home of Mrs. Bunnie
Cox on Milledge Circle, Thursday,
September 15, at 9 o‘clock. Mrs.
S. S. Routson, registrar, officiated. |
Miss Kathryn Hall Miss Dana‘
Ree Gray, and Miss Joanna}
Bridges assisted Mrs. Routson
during the ceremony. |
New members installed were:
Miss Beverly Beusse, Mrs. Helen
Dawson, Miss Lorene Porterfield,
Miss Sallie Nash and Miss Dorothy
Brandenberg.
Refreshments were served after
the ceremony.
—‘Pu'bligity Chairman.
Parents, the Safety Education
Division of the Georgia State Pa
trol asks us to remember that no
matter how much safety training
you give very small children, they
simply can’t be trusted in traffic.
We don’t mean that this training
isn’t vitally important, but we all
realize that young children can’t
reason lifxXe aduils and that they
often forget when something else
enters‘their minds. Watch for them.
If you are a parent, what are
the most important things on earth
to you? This sounds like a silly
question because we all know it’s
your children. Now that schools
have opened, the Safety Educa
tion Division of the Georgia State
Patrol asks us all to treat each
child as your owr as far as your
driving is concerned. You never
know when a child who is as im
portant to someon.: else as your
own to you will appear suddenly
before your car.

-engineers have tackled the job of
getting the 10,000-ton battleshiy,

The ship is new at *nooring, tied

Three of the Trieste’s four tur
