Honored At Brazil Homecoming

homecoming for George N. Craig,
40, first national commander of
The American Legion whose mili
tary service stems exclusively
from World War 11, has been set
here for Thursday, November 3.
This date has been selected be
cause it comes midway between
the annual national conference of
American Legion state command~
ers and adjutants and the fall ses=-
sion of the National Executive
Committee in Indianapolis,
The event will bring to Brazil
the top leaders of The American
Legion from every state in the
Union and many thousands of rank
and file Legionnaires and other
distinguished visitors.

work now and just this week dedi«
cated a $2,000,000 plant at East
Paterson, capable of turning out a
TV set every 20 seconds.
Du Mont has gatented more than
50 inventions himself and still
tinkers a coup.e of hours a day
with some 60 TV gets he has set
up in a laboratory near his home.
“I used to keep them in the
house, but my wife screamed so
much I had to move them out to
a lab," he said.
He feels that radio will soon
be ucondar{ to television and be
lieves this is already true in the
larger cities, And he stubbornly
contests the contention by some
that radio will retain its domin
ance during daytime hours.
“We already have a blgier au~
dience on some of our daytime TV
programs than competing radio
stations,” he said.
“A woman can still do her sew
ing and watch a television pro
gram. I doubt, anyway, that most
housewives keep on.the go from
7 o'clock in the morning to 7 at
‘night, At least the nnes I know
don’t.”
And maybe Du Moat doesn't
either, He has a television screen
built into the wall of his office,
