Divorce Suit
Set Nov. 15th
ATLANTA, Oct. 13.—(AP)—
The domestic turmoil of the Car
penters will get another airing
November 15,
On that date, Mrs. Helen Car
penter’s divorce suit against Civil
Court Judge Robert Carpenter
will come to trial in domestic re
lations court.
Her attorney is a former Phil
adelphian, John Lockwood, a
Peachtree street pistol target of
the judge on July 25.
The shooting affray, which oc
curred near Mrs. Carpenter’s
home, landed the judge in court
on attempted murder charge. He
on an attempted murder charge.He
among other things, that Lock
wood broke up his home and
tried to do him out of property.
The judge’s wife charges him
with breaking up his own home
by running around with another
woman, Mrs. Estelle Manful. She
also has sued Mrs. Manful,
charging her with alienating the
judge’s affections.
Mrs. Manful hasn’t been seen
around Atlanta lately—not since
the lawsuiting began. Court at
taches were unable to find her to
serve the papers.
