VII. The general objects and{
purposes of said corporation are
the advancement and promotion
of the interest and welfare of the
Eta Chapter of Omega Tau Sigma
at the University of Georgia, the
veterinary profession as a whole;
the fostering of the spirit of good
fellowship, friendship, learning,
and social intercourse among its |
members; and including especial
ly the providing in any lawful
manner for an adequate chapter
homre for its members; to pro
mote and maintain all necessary
and desirable facilities for com-~
fort and accommodation of such
members.
VIII. Said corporation shall
have all the powers necessary fori
the fulfiliment of its objects and |
purposes, without limitation by
reason of the powers, specifically
outlined herein, especially those
powers listed in Section 22-1827
and Section 22-1828 of the Geor
gia Code Annotated.
IX, The by-<laws as amended
from time to time shall provide
for the management, regulation,
and government of the corpora
tion’s affairs and property.
X. Wherefore petitionegs pray

Georgia, said tract being bounded
on the north by land of J. W. Hale,
on the east by E, F, Whitehead, on
the south by the Athens and Tale
lassee publie road, and on the
est bé lands formerly owned by

shown by a plat made by C. B.
Chandler, surveyor, on January
12, 1919, which plat is of record

ney conveved to the undersigned,
E. K. Fowler, the said note, the
said security deed and the said
land described therein, and,
WHEREAS, said note has be
come in default as to principal and
interest, and the undersigned elects
that the entire note, principal and
interest, become due at once.
Now, threfore, according to the
original terms of said security deed
and the laws in such cases made
and provided, the undersigned will
expose for sale to the highest and
best bidder for cash, the above
described land after proper ad
vertisement, on the first Tuesday
in January 1950, between the legal
hours of sale, before the court
house door in Clarke County,

All proceeds from said sale will
be used first to the payment of

HOUSING ASSOCIATION, INC.”
2. Said organization is not or
ganized for pecuniary gain or

tions; to buy, acquire, hold, im

borrow money; to otherwise incur
debts; to execute notes or bonds,
to evidence debts for money bor
rowed or otherwise incurred; and
to secure the payment of any
such debt or debts by mortgage,
security deed, deed of trust, or
other appropriate instrument to
any realty or personalty, or both,
that may be owned from time to
time by said corporation. s
7. Petitioners desire the right
to sue and be sued and be im
pleaded to contracts and be con
tracted with, to have and use a
common seal and generally to
have all such other corporate
powers as may be suitable to the
said enterprise and not inconsist
ent with the laws of the State of
Georgia or the United States.
8. The members of the said
corporation shall be the petition=-
ers named herein and alunmi of
Lambda Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi
Fraternity and any other mem
ber of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity
residing in Georgia whom the
Board of Directors of this cor
poration deem eligible for mem
bership in said corporation.
9. The affairs of said corpora
tion shall be managed by a Board
of Directors, t¢ be composed of
five (5) members of said corpor
ation. The five (5) named peti
tioners shall constitute the origi
nal Board of DMrectors and shall
serve until their successors are
duly elected amd qualify in con
formity with the laws of this
corporation. Three (3) members
of said Board of Directors shall
be alumni members of Pi Kappa

for the construction of a fire
station for the City of Athens.

NOTICE TO BRIDGE :
CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received by
the Board of Commissioners of
Roads and Revenue for Clarke
County, Georgia at its office in the
Court House at Athens, until ten
o’clock, A. M., Saturday, January
14, 1950, for dismanteling of Epps
Bridge over the Oconee River, and
moving this bridge approximately
seven miles to the site of the old
Newton Bridge, and re-erecting on
piers and ahutments to be built by
Clarke County,
The bridge to be moved and re
built is a riveted steel truss bridge
with two I-Beam appreach spans.
The main span is 133 feet-six inch,
with 18 foot roadway. On approach
is 30 feet long, and the other ap
proach span is 16 feet long.
All steel is to have one coat of
red lead and oil paint after being
re-erected.
The truss may be field rib bolted
instead of field riveted when re
erecied.
The County will furnish the
lumber and place the floor on the
bridge after the steel is erected.
The time for re-erecting the bridge
will aepend upon the completion of
the sub-structure by the County;
and this work will go on as rapidly
as conditions permit, but no defi
nite date of completion is guaran-
teed by the County.
A corporate bond for the faith
ful performance of the contract
and the payment in full of all just
claims for labor and material used
in the construetion, in the sum
double the contract, will be re
quired of the successiul bidder.
All bids must be accompanied by
a certified check or bid bond, not
less than 5% of the amount bid.
No bid may be withdrawn after
the scheduled closing time for the
receipt of bids for a period of
thirty days.
The work under the contract
must commence within two weeks
after official notice from the
Board of Commissioners, and be
completed within 60 working days.
The County of Clarke shall make
payment on account of the contract
as follows:—6o% of the contract
price when the bridge is taken
down and hauled to the new loca
tion and painted one coat of red
lead and oil paint, and 40% to be
paid when the bridge has been re
erected and painted the field coat,
and accepted by the County Engi~
neer.
The undersigned reserves the
right to reject any and all bids and
to wave informalities. This 14th

GRADING BIDS
Sealed bids in quadruplicate
will be received by the Board of
Education, Athens, Georgia, at the
office of the City Superintendent
of Schools, City Hall, Athens,
Georgia, until 2:30 P. M, E. S. T,,
January 3, 1950, for the grading
and storm water drainage for the
new High School Building, at Ath
ens, Georgia, at which time and
place bids will be publicly opened
and read aloud.
Copies of tke plans, specifica=
tions and other documents will be
on file at the office of the City
Superintendent of Schools, City
Hall, Athens, Georgia, where they
are open for public inspection.
Reference is hereby made to said
drawings and specifications as a
detailed description of the work
herein proposed.
On or about December 12, 1949,
drawings and specifications for the
grading and storm water drainage
will be available for distribution
from Wm. J. J. Chase & Associ
ates, Architects & Engineers, 140
Peachtree Street, Atlanta 3, Geor
gia, upcn deposit of $5.00 per set.
The fuil amount of the deposit wiii
be returned to each bidder only
upon receipt of a bonafide bid and
the return of aii documenis in
good condition, within ten days
following date of receipt of bids.
The deposit for each extra or ad
ditional set will be returned, as
above outlined, less the actual eost
of reproduction of each extra set.
Each bid must be accompanied
by a certified check or bidder’s
bond in an amount not less than
5% of the base bid. A compliance
bond will be required in an
amount equal to 160% of the con
tract price.
No bid may be withdrawn, after
the scheduled closing time, for 30
days following said time.
The Owners reserves the rightl
to waive any informality in and to
reject any and-or all bids.
