Kindergarten
Dear Miés- Thelma, " :
We hope you feel better,. We
love you, and we, miss you. We
hope veu can get baek to school
soon.
Love, ?
Kindergarten *
Miss Thelma has been in the hos
pital all week. Mrs. Webster has
been helping Mrs. Chandler ahd
Miss Sommer. ¢
Wednesday Mrs. Webster had a
lesson on “Our Flag.” Mary Lynn
told her the right number (7) of
red stripes, Jack Glass told the
right number (6) of white stripes::
and Rilly Bennett the right num
ber (48) of stars. Each of them
were given a “sugar plum.”
Miss Sommer was absent Mon
day and Tuesday. She was jn
New Orleans.
Mre. Webster has a “magic” bag
that holds most everything from
sugar plums to a princess’ outfit.
One day she pulled out a lovely
silk ¢hawl, a pretty necklace and
bracelet. She chose Carolyn
Bramblett for the “princess.” Jack
Glass was the “prince.”
We have had some lovely flow
ers all week. Donna, Wayne, Car
olyn, Drake and Gail brought
them. We fixed a pretty bowl and
sent it 1o Miss Thelma.
Second Grade
All of the children in our room
have been present every day this
week. We are trying to maintain
a high aitendance record.
Bennie Fuqua moved to Blue
Ridge, Georgia, last month and he
sent us a lot of pictures of his
school, the Blue Ridge Dam, etec.
He also wrote a letter to the whole
class. Tveryone in our class wrote
him a letter right after he moved.
We have a new science reading
book. It tells all about birds,
trees and all kinds of flowers.
Next week we are going to take
a walk and try to identify some
trees and birds.
Third Grade
The boys and girls in our room
have organized a clib. The name
of our club is the Good Citizenship
Club. We have a meeting every
Monday morning. Peter Range is
our president; Carolyn Denman is
secretary; Kenneth Skuse is pro
gram cemmittee chairman. Other
committee chairmen are Baxter
Crane and Sue Harrison. We all
enjoy ihe club meetings, and we
have had several interesting pro-.
grams.
W have been making clay mo
dels of people and animals this
week, Working with clay is fun
and all the boys and girls are en
loying making these models.
Kenneth Skuse, Gail Griffeth,
and Dana Woodward have been
absent for several days. We hope
they will soon be well and come
back t¢ school.
y —Charles Lavender
Fourth Grade
The last few days have made
us realize that we will soon be out
of school for our vacation. We are
finishing some of our books and
getting ready for tests. It will be
nice to have time to visit our
friends and have them visit us.
Our room has been very pretty
this week. We have had many
beautitul flowers brought to us
svery d.y,
We sre studylng about the
growth of animals and plants in
our seience. One of the most in
terestlng things' is the study of
tedpoles. We have watched them
'hminto frogs. w:nd also are
wa seeds sprout and grow.
AR J us are in school again,
after having measles and colds. We
*re trying very hard not to be ab
