family comfortable in summer by
always having soap placed con
veniently at every possible point of
use—shower, tub, washbowl, gar
age, garden tap, and basement tub.
A run in your nylons? Quick, the
soap—there’s always some nearby,
no matter where the crisis occurs.
Just dampen the soap, rub it into
the end of the run, and let it dry.
Once home again, the soap washes
out eagily and the stocking may
be saved by a reweaving job. At
least you've been saved some em
barrassment in public. This is

herself.

SNEAD FAVORED
LOS ANGELES, May 18.—(AP)
—The $15,000 Western Open golf
championship starts a four-day
run today with the defending
champion, Sam Snead, unani
mously elected the man to beat
for the $2,600 winner’s purse.
Such rivals as Ben Hogan and
Jim Demaret passed up this 47th
edition of the famed tournament,
and Snead merited the load of fav
oritism,
The supporting cast is probably
the weakest in the long history of
the Western.
Watls Gunn won 15 holes in a
row from V. L. Bradford during
the 1925 U. S. amateur golf cham
pionship.
When Chuck Rayner of the
New York Rangers was voted the
Hart Trophy for the 1949-50 sea
son, it was the second time the
honor had gone to a goaltender.
