BOLL-WEEVIL CONTROL y
Airplane spraying and dusting
and the use of heavy tractor equip
ment are spectacular ways to fight
boll weevils, but a majority of the
116,000 cotton allotment in Geor
gia this year are for small acreages
and are on small farms where
dusting and spraying equipment is
not available. Custom work is one
method of over-coming this handi
cap.
One of the greatest needs in
Georgia’s agriculture today is
higher yields per acre.

“Check accidents by checking
your car,” says the Safety Educa
tion Division of the Georgia State
Patrol. Sometimes conditions we
can't control cause trouble, but we
owe it to ourselves and others to
keep our cars in perfect mechani
cal condition. Just a little care
can so often prevent a costly ac
cident.
Good intentions won’t check
bad accidents,” says the Safety
Education Division of the Georgia
State Patrol. Keeping your car in
the best operating condition pos
sible very easily can. Vehicles in
need of repair figured in one out
of eight fatal accidents in 1948.
Don’t let your car be one of these
this year.
