CHRISTIAN SCIENSE
LESSON SERMON
Services of Christian Science
Society are held in the Georgian
Hotel Sunday mornings at 11:15
a. m.
Subject of the Lesson-Sermon
for Sunday, June 11 is: GOD THE
PRESERVER OF MAN.
Sunday School 9:45 a. m, Wer-

not knowing wither he went, By
faith he sojourned in the land of
promise, . . . For he looked for a
city which hath foundations,
whose builder and maker is God.
Heb. 11:8, 9 (to,) 10.
The Lesson-Sermon also in
cludes the following passages
the Christian Science textbook,
“Science and Health with Key to
the Scriptures” by Mary Baker
Eddy: Life, Truth, and Love are
the realties of divine Science.

Deacons Installed
At Central Church
On Sunday Evening
Sunday evening, May 28th, at
‘Central Presbyterian Church, two
deacons were ordained and four
were installed in a reverential and
deeply moving service.
The two deacons who were or
dained were: J, R, Pinkerton and
Carlton Williamson. Those two
being installed were: Telford
Burns and Tommy Wier.
The Rev. C. C. Shafe, pastor of
the church, took the text for his
sermon from the first chapter of
the Gospel of John. “There was a
man sent from God whose name
was John, He was not that Light
but was sent to bear witness of
that Light.”
The ceremony of ordination —
the setting aside of chosen men
for the Lord’s service in the
church, with the “laying on of
hands” by the minister and mem~
bers of the session-—has become a
familior one at Central Presby
terian Church but it is ever in
spiringly new. Each man as he
kneels and receives this Biblical
benediction must feel in his heart
that he has really been set apart
as a man sent from God, as John
the Baptist was and, like John,
his one thought will be that “God
must increase and I must decrease.
I am not that light, but I can re
flect that liglt.
