IN MEMORIAM
(Colored)
In memory of our mother, Mrs.
Emma Watson McKinney, who
passed away June 29, 1945.
Five years ago you went away
To a brighter, better home,
To a land of joy and endless day,
Where no heartaches ever come.
We think of you each night and
day,
We miss you, dear, so much.
Your deeds, your smiles, kind
words.you’'d say,
Your loving, tender touch.
We are trying still to keep the way
You taught us to find the Lord;
It’s him we ask #® lead each day,
And we're trusting in his word,
And when this life for us is done
And we leave this earthly shore,
We’'ll meet you in that better land
Where we shall part no more.
The children—
Mrs. Mary L. Sims,
Mr. and Mrs. Edd McKinney
and Family,
Mrs. Katie B Wood and son.

Scolt Dealer
Announces Easy
Crabarass Confrol
Availability of a new and revo
lutionary dry - applied powder
which kills crabgrass but does not .
harm desirable lawn grasses was
announced today by Norris Hard
ware Co., exclusive . dealers for
O. M. Scott & Sons Co., lawn spe
cialists.
Developed by Scotts Lawn Re
search, the herbicide eliminates
spraying, hand-pulling and other
bothersome methods -used in the
past to combat this hard-to-eradi
cate lawn eye-sore. The new ma
terial, called SCUTL, is simply
scattered over the infested area by
hand or with a two-wheeled
spreader. The particles of powder
fasten themselves tightly to the
broad crabgrass blades which ab
sorb the chemicals. The plants
wither and die.
SCUTL is a green - colored,
lightweight material, easy to han
dle and almost dustless. It does
not harm pets or birds in normal
usage and will not damage flow
ers or shrubs unless almost de
liberately administered.
From experiments conducted by
leading agronomists, as well as
private lawn owners in the past
several years, the producers of
SCUTL have learned that it is
best applied when crabgrass is
flourishing, usually in July and
August. The treatments shoudd
be made before the crabgrass has
an opportunity to drop the seeds
that will live to plague the lawn
in future years.
