There will be all-day services
with a basket dinner served at
the noon hour. These bringing
baskets are asked to carry them
to the basemant of the church
and a committee will take
charge of them and spread the
dinner so all will be ready to
serve as soon as the morning
service is over.
The call comes out again for
the return of any of the Bishop
Christain Church song books,
Favorite Hymns No. 2, that are
in the homes of the community.

Demonstration
Club Met At
Oconee Heights i
The July meeting of the Oconee
Heights Demonstration Club was\
held at the home of Mrs. Mell
Bond with Mrs. Frank Callaway
as co-hostess.
This meeting was held at 2
o’clock instead of the regular time
iin order for the ladies to make
‘copper bowls, which were very
| pretty.
. The roll was called and the min
utes read and approved and the
treasurer’s report was given. The
meeting was then turned over to
the president and old and new
business was discussed. A barbe
cue is to be held on the 19th, the
proceeds to go for the club house
'building fund.
A community picnie, sponsored
by the club was voted to be
given in place of the regular Au
gust meeting. ;
Mrs. Smith gave a demonstra
tion on thermometers for making
jellies and candy.
During the social hour delicious
refreshments were served.

The Ruth class of the Prince Av
enue Baptist Church held its reg
ular monthly business meeting at
the home of Mrs. Frances Ogle
tree, 495 Woodlawn Avenue on
Thursday evening, July 13, with
Mrs. S. G. Ray, presiding. Prayer
was led by Mrs. Ruth Thaxton.
The minutes were read and re
ports given by the various class
officers. Also during the business
session a nominating committee,
composed of Mrs. O. F. Chance,
Mrs. Gladys B. Davison and Mrs.
Ruth Thaxton, was appointed for
the selection of class officers for
the coming year. In this connection
Mrs. J. H. Bradley, the teacher,
asked that each be much in prayer.
She stated that God has a place
for each of us, also the power to
supply what we need in {illing our
places. We learn by doing and
through practice . perfection is at
tained.
Because of the close association
of the Dorcas and Ruth classes,
we are looking forward with
pleasure to a joint picnic of the
two classes at the Church Annex;
7:00 o’clock, Thursday evening,
July 27.

knowledge. This proved very in
teresting and was enjoyed by all.

The meeting was begun by

its, 10 trays and many cards were
reported so have been sent to the
