MORE FISH THAN FISHERMEN
ST. JOHN'S, Nfld.—(AP)—Fish
were never more plentiful in La
brador waters, fleet captains say,
but fishermen are scarce. Despite
the possibility of bountiful catch
es fishermen are boycotting the
waters after failure to get a set
price for their catch established.
About 280,000 acres of New
York State are devoted to orchards
and vineyards.

ANTI-RED STOPS OPERA COLD
VIENNA— (AP) —A heckler’s
comment during a recent perfor
mance of “Aida” brought squads
of Hungarian political police to
the Budapest state opera house
and interrupted the performance
for nearly two hours, according to
reports reaching Vienna.
When Aida sang the line, “Rha
dames, Rhadames, where are
you?” someone in the audience
shouted, “at the Communist party
night school, of course.”
The roaring laughter stopped in
stantly when the political police
arrived. Everyone in the buiiding
was questioned before the opera
was allowed to proceed.

yourself and above all don’t speed.
Enjoy your vacation, take it easy
