Club To Meet
In Dawson Hall
The biennial business meeting
of the University Woman's Club
will be held on Tuesday, April 10,
at 4 p. m. in Dawson Hall. At this
meeting the ladies of the Agricul
tural Extention Service, under the
chairmanship of Mrs. Walter
prown, will act as hostesses.
A musical program will be pre
gented by the members of the
elub’s Music Group of which Mrs.
1 Stanley Gray is chairman and
Mrs. F. W. Bennett co-chairman.
About fifteen members of the
group will take part including
Mrs. Gsald Huff, the accompan
ist. The program will be directed
by Mr. Robert Robinette who is
an advanced student in the Music
Department of the University.
At the business meeting the
president, Mrs. Tomlinson Fort,
will preside. Biennial reports will
be given by the various officers
and chairmen of the club. The
nominating committee, consisting
of Mrs. Alfred Scott, chairman,
Mrs, Eugene Odum, and Mrs, Ar
thur E. Cullison, will present their
slate and the election of officers
for the next two years will take
place :

Meet On Tuesday
Mrs. D. L, Nowell will be the
hostess to the Allen R. Fleming,
jr., unit of American Legion Auxi
liary on Tuesday, April 10, 4 p. m.
at her home 1692 S. Milledge ave
nue.
Mrs. J. M, Lewis, president, is
to preside over the business meet
ing. Reports from chairmen will
be given and plans made for send
ing representatives to Girls State
which is held annually.

Miss Foster Will
Be Heard In
Recital Sunday
Miss Jackie Foster, pianist, will
be presented by the University
Musie Department in recital at
University Chapel Sunday after
noon at 4:30 o'clock: I
Miss Foster’s program, which is
made up of four groups, lists the
Prelude and Fugue in d minor, J.
S. Bach; Capriccio, Opus 76, No. 1,
Brahms; Etude No. 24 in ¢ minor,
Chopin; Cloches a travers les
teuilles, Debussy; Capriccio in f
minor, Dohnanyi; and the Beeth
oven Concerto No. 4 in G major in
three movements—Allegro moder
ato, Andante con moto and Rondo
vivace,
Ira Cobb, also a music depart
ment student, will play the or
chestral accompaniment to . the
Beethoven Concerto.
The public is invited to attend.

I was wounded in the Korean
fighting on September 16, re
ceiving a guanshot wound in my
left leg. 1 received a plasma
transfusion in the aid station
shortly after I was wounded and
more transfusions later in a base
hospital in Japan, where I stayed
for a number of days before be
ing evacuated to the States,
“I was feeling pretty low after
being hit, but when I received
the plasma it helped steady me
a lot,
“Later, when 1 received the
blood transfusions it brought my
strength back and 1 felt like &
different person, and I know that
the transfusions of blood which
folks back at home had donated
through the Red Cross for use by
the military meant a whole lot in
helping-me on my way to get
ting well”
