BRIDE OF RALPH J. COSTA ON APRIL FIRST
At a quiet ceremony at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Miss
Alice Elizabeth Lundquist and Mr. Ralph J. Costa were
married Sunday, April 1, at three o'clock, in the presence
of relatives and a few close friends.
The Rev. Francis X. Claugherty
officiated at the impressive double
ring ceremony,
Lovely pink gladioli adorned
the three altars in the church.
Miss Emily Rhodes played the
nuptial music and Mr. Edward K.
Blanchard sang “Ave Maria.”
Mrs, Marion Conway, twin sis
ter of the bride, was the matron
of honor and the only attendant.
The groomr had as his best man
his brother, Mr. James A, Costa,

Mrs. Costa is the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs, E. F. Lundquist, of
Sanford, Fla.
Mr. Costa is the son of Mr. and
Mrs, James A. Costa and at pres
ent is in the U. S. Army stationed

Fowler announce the marriage of
their daufhter, Sara Ruth, to John
Davis Bolton of Decatur, Georgia.

Group Met
On April 4th
Barrow School Elementary Child
Study group met with Mrs. 1. C.
Smith on April 4, at 8 p. m. This
was the fourth meeting of the re
cently formed group. Officers of
this group are Mrs. H. T. Abney,
president; Mrs. A. P. Keller, sec
retary; and Mrs. I. C. Smith, treas
“urer. Mrs. Ellis Garrett is mem
bership chairman.
. Dr. Karl Garrison, who is with
the College of Education at the
University of Georgia, spoke on
the subject, “Negative Behavior in
Children.” Dr. Garrison, who has
previously published two books
has a third one, “Child Growth
‘and Development” which will be
' published in 1952. Dr. Garrison
pointed out that the greatest
lamount of negative behavior was
| found in children of middle class
' families. He also gave as an im
' portant reason for this behavior
the parents’ failure to allow the
children to develop free from the
over-anxieties of parents.

Mrs, James A. Costa entertained
the out-of-town guests and rela
tives at a reception at their home
on Milledge Heights.
Later in the afternoon Mr, and
Mrs. Costa left for a wedding trip
to Florida.

were Mr, and Mrs. Marion Con
way, of Sanford, Fla.; Mr. and
Mrs. Steve Wolfe, of Chamblee,
Ga.; Mr, and Mrs. Fred J. Costa,
Mr,; and Mrs. Charles Cinciolo,
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Leroy, Mrs.
Rose McDonald, Miss Kathleen
Bagwell, Mr. Leonard Cinciolo,
all of Gainesville, Ga.
Decatur, Ga. He served four years
in the United States’ Army Air
Force, World War 11, two of which
were spent in the Pacific Theater.
He attendent the Univ. of Georgia,
where he received his B. S. Degree
in Agriculture. After graduation
he was employed by the U. S. De
partment of Soil Conservation at
Greensboro, Ga. He is now serving
with the' Army Air Force stationed
in Puerto Rico.
The bride and groom left imme
diately for a wedding trip to Saint
Simong Island and Tybee Beach.
Out-of-town guests included the
bride’s sister, Mrs. - Bruce B.
Blackburn, jr., and little daugh
ter, Linda Sheryl of Washington,
D. C, and Mr. and Mrs. W. T.
Oldham of Ninty-Six, N. C.

be held on May 2, 1951 at the home
of Mrs. Martha Liddell Dioz at
8:00 p. m. Election of officers for
the following year will be held at

cern summer recreation for chil
dren.

Freddie Corcoran, boss of the wo

Of Mrs. Harris they said, “She
runs the Masters office, handles
all requests and complaints, and
rever loses her sweet - faced,
smiling ana gracious demeanor.
She is the only lady we ever saw
who ean handle the intricate and
annoying details of a major tour
nament with the grace and charm
one associates with the mistress
of a Southern manor.”
