Ralph Thomas Smith, 31, for
merly of Danidisville and Colbert,
died in Atlanta where he had re
sided for the past ten years, Fri
day after an illness of three
months,
Services are to be conducted
this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from

M. Crow, officiating.
Burial will follow in Meadow

man Funeral Home in charge of

Mr, Wilson i survived by his
wife, Mrs. Ann Wilson, Atlanta;
daughter, Miss Patricia Wilson,
Atlanta; parents, Mr, and Mrs. C,
A. Wilson, Danielsville; sister,
Mrs. D, F. Thomson, Waterloo,
Iowa; two brothers, L. Alvin Wil
son, Colbert, and Curtis Wilson,
Comer,
He was a native of Madison
county and for several years op
erated a confectionary stand in
Grady Hospital in Atlanta. The
body was taken to the home of his

brother, Alvin Wilson, in Colbert,
and will lie in state in the church
for an hour prior to’the services.

Beta Sigma Phi
Held Initiation
The Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi held the formal initiation for
the new pledges on Tuesday eve
ning, May 10th, at the home of
Mrs. Grace Bowers, 169 Highland
Terrace.
The living room and dining
room were decorated with beau
tiful arrangements of spring flow
ers. The ritual table was im
pressive with the traditional white
cloth and candles. At the close of
the impressive service the pledg
es were presented with a corsage
of yellow rose buds. The pkd(gel
are Fran Tharp, Martha Mauldin,
and barbara Ann Carson, transfer
from Nu Phi Mu.
The recently elected officer in
clude Grace Bowers, president;
Ann Shelnutt, vice-president; Ju
lia Beacham, recording secretary;
Carolyn Mostello, corresponding
secretary; and the treasurer will
be announced later. Serving on
the Beta Sigma Phi Citi'Council
