COURTING POSTMEN
LEAVE JOBS
LONDON.—(AP)—It’s the male
in them that’s getting London’s
mailmen down.
Mail sorter W. S. Pettitt told a
gathering of Union of Post Office
Workers that 144 postmen left one
big London mail sorting office in
the past year because of night
work there.
“How can a young postman on
a permanent two to ten p. m. duty
do his courting?” he asked.
