RELIGIOUS POWER ASSERTED
ONTARIO, Calif—(AP)—“Am
erican Christianity is a much more
powerful weapon than the atom
bomb,” says a minister from Hiro
shima, Japan. The Rev. Kiyoshi
Tanimoto, addressing an open
meeting here, said the A-bembs
dropped on the Japanese cities of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki “did not
kill the human heart. American
Christian spirit was the real source
of victory (for the U, S.).”> -
Rev. Tanimoto, pastor of the
Nagaregawa United Church of
Christ, is touring this counfry to
raise funds for a service center.
for orphans and juvenile delin
quents in Hiroshima. !
Any resentment the Japanese
may have had against Americans
for dropping atomic bombs “was
checked by the occupation forces
and their humanitarian treatment
of their former enemies,” he said.
