At Birthday P 'y
Saturday afternoon Michalle
Aldridge, daughter of Mrs., and
Mrs, Ralph C. Aldridge, celebrated
Ler fourth birthday. The occasion
vas observed by a party held in
the afternoon at her home 69
Myrna Court.
Michalle’s ‘birthday dress was
Corigned by her mother espically
for. the party. The dress is pink
with a frothy white organdy pina
fore, the hem of which was em
broidered in black musical notes
that make un the score of “Happy
Birthday,” and in the sash there
is a golden key that winds up and
the little honoree plays “Happy
Birthday.”
Santa Claus called at three o’-
cork and presented each guests
with a candy cane. In the living
room was a Chrisimas tree, and
ebout one hundred balloons, added
color to the affair. These were
presented as favors.
The birthday cakes were shaped
like lamabs and one was a doll,
whose skirt was the cake, this was
iced to match the honoree’s dress.
Delicious ice eream and cake was
served and enjuyed by the sixteen
little guests, children of neighbors
in the Myrna Courts apartments.
The lake abbve Boulder dam
contains enough water, when full,
to cover the entire state of New
York to a depth of one foot.

Miss Beverly Ann Teat And Lt.
Carter To Wed On February 2
Mr. and Mrs, Ira Sherman Teat,
of Athens, announce the engage
ment of their danghter, Miss
Beverly Ann Teat, to Lieutenant
Charles Henry Carter, jr., U. S.
Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. Char
les Henry Carter, of Savannah.
The wedding is to take place
February 2, at the First Methodist
Church. Plans will be announced
later,
Miss Teat was graduated from
Central High School, Charlotte,
North Carolina, where she was a
member of the G. G. S. Club and
the National Honor Society. She
is now attending the University of
Valuable Painting

Museum Of Art
A very fine old painting, re
presenting, “The Journey To See
The Christ Child, is now on dis
play in the Georgia Musmum of
Art,
Bennozzo Gozzoli decorated the
Medici Chapel. In this panel he de
picts. the journey of one of the
kings to see the Christ child. The
proceszion is decked in full med
ieval caparison. Gozzoli’'s patrons,
The Medici, take all the principal
parts in it. The king is Lorenzo
De Medici, later to be called “The
Magnificent.” Behind him (left
Georgia where she serves as pres=- |
ident of the Alpha Chi Omega
sorority. She is also a member of
Alpha Lambda Delta and U. R.
S. A,
Lt. Carter was graduated from
Savannah High School. He re
ceived his B. B. A. degree from
the University of Georgia in June,
1951. At the University he was
a member of Delta Sigma Pi, pro- '
fessioonal farternity, and served
as treasurer of the Scabbard and
Blade Military Society. He is now
stationed at Camp Rucker, Ala
bama, where he and his bride will
live. ‘

the words “Opus Beunotii.” In the
background lies a Palestine that
never was in any age, a landscape
spotted with Itallian castles and
Topiary trees, hawks in Pouncea
and deer in flight.
This valuable painting was
loaned to the Georgia Musemum
of Art by Miss Nell Peece. If will
be displayed from December 13 to
December 22. It is most appropri
ate for this Christmas season.

Wedding Plans Of Miss Evelyn Thornfon
And Mr. Louis Runge Announced Today
The wedding plans of Miss
Bvelyn Thornton and Mx. Louis T.
Runge, of Greenville, 8. C,, have
been completed. The ceremony
will take place on Friday, Decem=-
‘ber 28, eight o’clock in the even
ing at the First Baptist Church,
Dr. J. C. Wilkimson is to officiate,
assisted by Dr. Howard Giddens.
The nuptial music will be pre~
sented by Mrs. H. M. Morris, or
ganist, and Louis Griffith, soloist.
Lt. Raymond Stephens and
Cecil Adams, of Athens, and Wal
lace Pate, of Greenville, S. C., are
to light the candles.
The best man is H. E. Runge,
father of the groom, and the
usher-groomsmen include Jimmie
Jamerson, Jimmie Gallivan and
Bill Haddon, of Greenville, S. C.;
Jimmie Thornton, cousin of the
bride; Charles Thornton, jr., bro
ther of the bride, of Athens; and
Bill Sellman, Summerville, S. C,,
cousin of the groom.,
The maid of honor is Miss Ruth
Wellman, and the bridesmaids
are Miss Elinor Tillman, Miss
