- MACHINES GIVE SAFETY, ACCURACY, SPEED
The local Citizens & Southern National
Bank has recently completed installation
of a battery of modern business machines
that speed up the time consumed in mak
ing deposits, at the same time providing
more safety, accuracy and convenience.
Citizens And Southern Nafional
Bank Installs Modern Machines
A battery of modern, new busi
ness machines has been installed
at teller's windows at the local
Citizens & Southern National
Bank, designed to improve and
speed up the method of handling
checking account deposits. :
Because of the machines, there
will be less standing in line for
customers of the bank, the new
method is more convenient, ac
curate and safe, officials of the
bank point out.
In the matter of safety it is
pointed out the total amount of the
deposit is mechanigally printed on
an official deposit receipt. This
receipt is the bank’s confirmation
that your deposit has been received

Shown above is a scene in the bank show
ing the tellers at work, the gray machines
to the left of each. Details of how the
machines operate and the advantages
they provide are given in the accompany
ing story.
It is an exact duplicate of the
bank’s record, it is non-negotiable
and it affords protection against
alteration.
It is accurate because the am
ount of the deposit is registered
mechanically and provides the
depositor and the bank with id
entical records, all in one opera
tion. There are no hand-witten
records. At the same time the
machine also validates the deposit
slip, with the identical numbers
and amounts as shown on the re
ceipt. The depositor can get as
many validated gopies of the de
posit slip as required.
Bank officials also said the re-
ceipt is identified by number only
unless the depositor wiches to put
his or her name on the receipt. No
one else can obtain information
about a deposit. And no one, mak
ing a deposit for another, can get
information about previous de
posits as was true with the pass
book method.
If the repositor has been using
duplicate deposit slips as receipts,
it will no longer be necessary to
prepare the extra slip, thus saving
time. A
The customer will continue to
make out deposit slips just as al
ways. He need not change his
customary methods in any way.
The only change is in the furnish
ing of this official receipt.
The machines print on the de
posit receipt the date, the bank’s
name, teller’s identification, trans
action number, deposit- and am
ount of deposit.
