seen service in both World Wars,
I recently elected to receive dis
ability compensation for my serv
ice-connected disability, instead
of retirement pay. Does that make
me eligible for VA’s out-patient
treatment.
A. Yes. You may be eligible for

PACIFIC CROSSING
PLANNED
SAN PEDRO, Caltf.—(AP)—
For John Caldwell, currently pre
paring the 36-foot ketch, Tropic
Seas, for a voyage to Australia,
this will be nothing new.
In 1946 he made the trip from
Panama to Australia in a 29-foot
sailboat to pick up his war bride.
The sale of his book, “Desperate
Volage”, about that trip is making
this one possible.
His crew this time will be his
blonde wife, Mary, and their two
sons, Johnnie, 4%, and Steve, 16
months. Caldwell figures the 6,-
000-mile trip will take a year so
he is providing plenty of ham and
eggs and books.
