Bell's Cne Of South's
fiost Modern Stores
One of Athens’ best known
stores. Bell’'s Food Market, was
established in August of 1941 at
the corner of Washingicn and Pu

year since, with one exception,
the business has shown an in
crease over the previous year.
One of the most modern stores
in the South, Bell’s, just as a ma
jority of food stores and others,
did not have all the foods con
sumers wanted but the store of
ficials decided that it should pur
chase and sell only those items to
be secured at legal prices and
never knowingly sold anything
ahove the legal price.
In commenting on its years of
business here, the store’s op
erating staff, Fred G. BRell, Hubert
Bell and Horace Bell, said:

TOO MUCH FLUORIDE
TOKYO—(AP)—Japan is one
country where they don’t have to
add fluoride to the water to stop
tooth decay. 2
The welfore ministry says Jap
anese in 42 of Japan’s 46 prefec
tures are drinking water with too
much fluoride with the result that
many have mottled teeth.
Japanese scientists did not find
this out, however, until the gov
ernment actually began a project
in Kyota Prefecture to add flou
ride to drinking water, Scientists
blame the fluoride condition of
the water on Japanese volcanoes.
