called Paradise there’s a project
known as the “Lord’s Acres.”
The Paradise Baptist Church
members this spring manned 20
tractors and in about two hours
plowed, smoothed and fertilized
440 acres for corn planting. All
was given freely. Corn profits in
the fall go for' the church and

Announcement was made today
of the appointment of five agri
cultural leaders to the member
ship of the advisory committee of
the Georgia Plant Food Educa
tional Society.
E. D. Alexander, Agricultural
Extension agronomist, who has
been serving as adviser for the
organization, said the following
appointments have been made:
George H. King, associate director
of Agricultural Experiment Sta
tions; Dr. Glenn Burton, chairman
of the University of Georgia divi
sion of agronomy; Dr. Francis E.
Johnstone, jr., chairmdn of the
University division of horticulture;
and W, O. Collins, head of the
College of Agriculture agronomy
department.
The Georgia Plant Food Edu
cational Society, one of the first
groups of this kind in the South,
was organized earlier this year
and now has 260 members en
rolled. Malcoim Rowe, Athens
Fertilizer Manufacturer and deal
er, is president.
