JOHN 11:25-26—"“Jesus said unto her, I am the
resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, '
though he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever
liveth and believeth on me shall never die ~.”
When the history of the ages is finally written,
these words may turn out to be the gredtest words
ever f,g‘,(.-i:(‘n. The l,(ml Chris! has alrcady c!aimed
that He is the way to God—""l am the way ...";’
that through Him salvation comes - "'l am the door
...""; that He is the spiritual nourishment for the
believer—"‘] am the bread ...""; and that He illu
mines our pathway and keeps us from falling~""I am
the light ..."”
Now comes the supreme claim—"' am the resur~
rection and the life.”” Most men do not want to die.
Death lurks in the background of all our thinking and
overshadows all our days. You do not want to die?
Then come to Christ, take Him, love Him, live Him,
and you will taste a quality of life which you know
] in your heart of hearts can never end. It is everlast
ing. You now are immortal. ‘
This is my favorite word from Scripture because it
deals with man’s last question, What about death? , |

In chapter 18 of Revelation the
entire world organization or sys
tem of things controlled by Satan
the Devil is spoken of as “Baby
lon the great.” Babylon began her
fall when her invisible part was
hurled earthward by Christ after
his enthronement A. D. 1914,
(Rev. 12:1-12), At Armageddon
the fall of the invisible demon
hordes will be completed and will
land thenr in the abyss, and the
visible realm of Satan will suffer
complete destruction. (Rev. 19:11-
21; 20:1-3). But some will escape
the fiery judgments that consume
her. How? By a later resurrection
in the miliennial reign of Christ?
Not according to the record: “Get
out of her, my people, if you do
not want to share with her in her
sins, and if you do not want to
receive part of her plagues. For
her sins have massed together
clear up to heaven, and God has
called her acts of injustice to
mind. That is why in one day her
plagues will come, death and
mourning and fanrine, and she will
be completely burned with fire,
because Jehovah God who judged
her is strong.” — Rev. 18:4-5-8,
NW. How must we escape the
plagues of Babylon the great?
What are the plagues? The public
is invited to hear the answers to
these and other important ques
tions today at 4 p. m. at the King
dom Hall. No collections.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
LESSON SERMON
The subject of the Christian
Science Lesson-Sermon Sunday is
GOD. A better understanding of
God is certainly the best way to
help man have a better way of
life. This Lesson-Sermon will be
heard in the Christian Science
Society of Athens in the Georgian
Hotel, Sunday, July 6, at 11:15 a.
m. Wednesday evening meetings
will include testimonies of heal
ing through Christian Science, are
held at the Georgian Hotel on the
first Wednesday of each month at
8:00 p. m. The public is cordially
invited.
The Galden Text is from Reve
lation (21:3): “Behold, the taber
nacle of God is with men, and he
will dwell with them, and they
shall be his people, and God him
self shall be with them, and be
their God.”
Paul wrote to the Corinthians,
and reminded them of God’s all
ness as will pe neard in one of the
Bible selections: “But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor
ear heard, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things
which God hath prepared for them
that love him.” —(I Cor. 2:9).
There will also be explanatory
statements from “Science and
Health with Key to the Serip
tures” by Mary Baker Eddy. The
following is one such: “God is in
finite, the only Life, substance,
Spirit, or Soul, the only intelli
gence of the universe, including
man., Eye hath neither seen God
nor His image and likeness.”
(p. 330).

Dr. Cook, when asked about the

said:
There is a definite move

view of the Bible. Biblical theo

there was a new appreciation of
the unique character of the old
Testament as a divine revelation.
Theologians nowadays are recog
nizing the essential unity of the
old and new Testament as cen

Dr. Cook also stated he was
glad to see that mass Evangelism
in America was being emphasized
again, noticeably in the Billy
Graham meeting. He attended the
meeting now in progress in Jack

and was greatly impressed with
his “follow up” system. The best

Liver loaf will have a milder
flavor if the pan in which its
baked is set in another pan of
hot water than if the loaf is baked
without this water bath.
Water may be used instead of
milk in almost any batter or
dough, But when water is used the
crust will not become quite so
brown as if milk were used: in
addition the baked product will
have less nutritive value.

Secret Of Aerophysics Learned
From Flight Of Wild Vultures
By JIMY WARD
STATE COLLEGE, Miss.—Play
ing an aerial game of follow-the
leader with wild Mississippi buz
zards, sailplane champion Dick
Johnson has been learning secrets
of aerophysics that may provide
long sought answers in the avia
tion field.
Johnson and Dr. August Raspet,
head of the Mississippi State Col~
lege aerophysics department, re
cently noticed that buzzards have
an instinet for seeking out invis
ible updraft and can soar through
the air with less than half the
resistance, or “drag,” of the most
efficient airplane.
To find out why, Johnson trailed
the wild birds in his record-fast
sailplane, radioing his speed of
flight, altitude and other informa
tion of Dr. Raspet.
Results were so encouraging
that the pair now plan to train
two squadrons of the vultures to
aid them in their research. Fly
ing controlled flights, the birds will
carry instruments which will re
lay information to scientists on
the ground.

trained a buzzard for research
work once before, but that time
the bird choked on a chicken bone
and died in the midst of experi

the same mistake again.
Right now, Johnson is en route
to Madrid, Spain, to compete in
an international soaring meet. Us

buzzard-trailing, the 29-year-old
former airlines pilot, now a Miss
