CHI OMEGA CONVENTION
The 28th Biennial €hi Omega Convention was held June 25
through 30 at the Greenbrier at White Sulphur Springs, West
Virginia, Shown above, first row, left to right are: Miss Mary
Merry, of Augusta, secretary; and Miss Anila Cofer, of Athens;
back row, left to right: Miss Jan Martin, Tifton, president of the
chapter, and Miss June Rackley, of Thomasville, seated on the
porch of the Greenbrier. They represented the Mu Beta Chapter
of Chi Omega at the University of Georgia. The affair was high
lighted by a formal banquet, roundtable' discussions, and talks
given by the national officers.

regular luncheon meeting of the
Clarke County Women Voters.
The meeting will be held in the
Holman Hotel and reservations

Mr. Lowe was a member of the
State Patrol for twelve years and
held the rank of Corporal when
he resigned to become associated
with the Simpson Company.
He will talk to the women's
organization on safety and will

Williams, to Mr. Robert Nelson
Nash, of Athens.
Miss Willilams’ mother is the
former Eleanor Hazen, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maynard
Doran Hazen, of Boston, Mass., and
Athens. Her paternal grandparents
are Mrs. Janres Williams, of Ath
ens, and the late Mr. James M.
Williams. She has two brothers,
Paul R. Williams, Macon, Ga., and
Henry D. Williams, Athens.
The bride-elect attended Athens
High School and was a member
of the Beta Club, a Cheer Leader,
Who’s Who winner, and she was a
senior beauty in the annual beauty
review. She was secretary of S. A.
P, Social Club. Miss Williams was
chosen 1951 DeMolay sweetheart.
She attended the University of
Georgia and was in the freshman
beauty court sponsored by “Z”
Club. She is a member of the Phi
Mu sorority,
Mr. Nasa is the third son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jewel Young Nash, sr., of
Athens. His mother is the former
Miss Sara Annette Whittaker,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
D. W. Whittaker, of Greensboro,

B. S. degree in Forestry from the
University of Georgia in June.
While in school he was a nrember
of Xi Sigma Pi, honorary forestry
fraternity; Alpha Zeta, honorary
agricultural fraternity; Forestry
Club, president of the Arnold Air
Society, and is a past Master
Councilor of DeMolay. He is a dis
tinguished Military graduate and
received his commission in the Air
Force in May.
The ceremony will take place
Saturday, August the sixteenth,
half after 4 o'clock, in the First
Methodist Church, Athens.

The wedding took place on June

Mrs. Newt Saye on the Whitehall

Adams, of Mount Olive, N. C., and
Robert Odell Bradley, jr., son of

ley, of Rocky Mount, N. C., were
united in marriage on June, the
twenty-first, at four o’'clock in the
afternoon at the First Baptist
Church in Salisbury, N. C.
The bride and groom entered the
church together, unattended, and
were met at the altar by the Rev
erend Richard A. Ellis, pastor of
the First Baptist Church, and a
former pastor of the groom, who
officiated at the double ring cere
mony. |
The vows were spoken before a
background of the traditional
bridal colors, green and white,
with a baskets of white gladioli
interspersed with ferns, formed a
setting for the wedding scene.
The Bride
For her wedding the bride wore
a two piece dress of ice blue faille
topped with a hip length jacket
trimmed with self covered buttons.
Her hat was a close fitting cloche
of white linen trimmed with mat
ching daisies centered with a sing
le rhinestone. Her costume was
completed with matching acces
sories of white linen. She wore a
corsage of white carnations.
The Reception
Following the wedding members
of the immediate families were
entertained at the home of the
groom’s sister, Mrs. L. E. Lingle
and Mr. Lingle in Lexington, N. C.
The couple left immediately after
wards for a trip through the Blue

Honors At State Convention
The United Spanish War Vet
erans and Auxiliary gathered in
Savannah this week at the De
Sota Hotel for their 30th annual
encampment.
Commander-in-Chief = Charles
William Bernhardt of Atlanta was
present and addressed the Con
vention. He also spoke out at Bon
aventure Cemetery when the Na
tional Organization presented to
the State a beautiful Bronze
plaque in memory of Past Com
mander in Chief William L. Gray
son. Col. Grayson’s grandson and
name sake William Leon Grayson
of Atlanta unveiled the plaque.
The delegates on their return
announced that Col. Oscar J.
Brown Auxiliary had been award
ed a beautiful United States Silk
Flag, for being on the Honor Roll.
Other prizes were: Kay Kasler
sixth grade Chase Street School
won the first prize for best essay
written in the state. The Auxiliary
