Enrolled in the Barrow School
Senior Department are forty-five
students, twenty-two girls and
twenty-three boys. There are
thirty-one girls and forty-three
girls in the Junior Department
which makes a total of seventy
four Juniors. :
The Art classes made puppets
and the Dramatics class dramatiz
ed a story, “The Toothless Lion,”
for them. There were two per
formances, which everyone seem
ed to enjoy. Art students: have
worked with clay tempera, and
crayons. Those interested in Crafts
are making things of wood and
leather and are weaving on looms
which they made.
Fighteen boys and girls are
taking lessons on hand instru
ments from Mr. Byrnes. He comes
to Barrow School on Monday and
Thursday.
Ten ladies are taking driving
lessons for Mr. Ladson.
We have started our sewing
class and are making blouses,
shorts and aprons. We enjoyed the
trip to the fire station and our
gicnic at Memorial Park on July

Alumnae Group
Being Formed
For Seminary
An Alumnae Association is being
organized throughout Georgia by
Washington Seminary, Atlanta
School for Girls. The school is in
its 75th year of continuous op
eration, and was established by
direct descendants of the first U.
8. president.
The Diamond Jubilee year will
be the most active in the school’s
history, and class representatives
in all Georgia counties and cities
are being elected, Alumnae have
been invited to send their names }

with a banquet and announcement
of Best Campers. In the junior
division Susan Lee Guest, daugh
ter of Mr. and Kenneth Guest of
Athens, earned top honors. Gay
Knox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Laurence Knox of Thomson, won

division and the senior cup went
to Beverly Duggar, daughter of
Col. and Mrs. L. G. Duggar of
Athens. Amy Hargrove of Watk
insville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
A. G. Hargrove was awarded a cup
for Most Improved camper.
