To Personalifies
NEW YORK, N. Y.— Whether
you want to do business, make
friends or get married, better take
a good loolk at the person you're
dealing with.
Body build, shape of head and
even color of hair can give you
important clues to personality, ac
cording to a report published in
the August Journal of Living.
At Harvard University, studies
showed that short, stocky persons
are the least gullible. Lean and
lanky types are also fairly dif
ficult to influence, but persons
with well-proportioned physiques
are practically pushovers.
Among men, the stocky ones
have more resistance to feminine
wiles and cling to bachelorhood
with far greater tenacity than the
other types. Stocky women, on
the other hand, are very resolute
minded, usually get what they go
after, and marry much, earlier
than their taller and slimmer sis
ters.
The shape of the head may in
dicate emotional intensity, judging
from studies at the University of
California. Narrow-headed per
sons are more easily irritated and
more subject to fear, worry and
anxiety than those with broader—
proportioned heads. Persons with
medium-shaped heads tend to be
the most stable and least apt to
become emotionally usset.
Even hair color tends to be re
lated to personality according to
the Journal of Living article. In
surveys made of a representative
cross section of the nation’s blond
and brunette population, inter
esting results were discovered.
The shortcomings of blondes tend
to be lack of caution, inconstancy,
overconfidence and aggression.
In brunettes, failings run along
the lines of moodiness, lack of op
timism and initiative, and a ten
dency to take things too seriously.
CHOCOLATE CAKE
A ‘FAVORITE SON’
NEW YORK—(AP)—Chocolate
cake may wel] be a White House
favorite. in 1953, according to a
survey by a firm (Rockwood &
Co.) which queried the officials
ky letter.
Chocolate won the nod in the
poll of presidential candidates and
U. S. senators. Of the senators
who voted, over 36 per cent pre
ferred chocolate or devil’s food
cake, This group included Sen.
Robert A. Taft, Sen. Estes Ke
fauver and Gov. Earl Warren.
Gov. Adlai E. Stevenson pre=-
fers an old-time favorite, Lady
Baltimore cake, a white cake
lopped with a date, raisin and nut
frosting. Sen. Robert S. Kerr de
cided on a sponge cake.
Gen. Dwight Eisenhower said he
had no particular favorite.
