Yester day morning he was brought into the court room between two officers, but lie was not hand-cuffed or manacled, Chief Hanie evidently thinking that Coffee has too great a respect for his un erring aim to attempt break. Coffee entered the court room with a firm step, quite erect, his bold, fearless eye glancing from side to side as if view ing liis battle ground and weighing his chances for success. He is tall, well built, and evidently lias been a very stout man, but his con finement and his sufferings caused by his wounds have told on him. The buck shot which entered his need have left a long, irregular scar extending al most, from ear to ear, and the back of his neck is perforated with sears, where the shot were extracted after having passed through. It is indeed a wonder that he has lived to stand his trial, eighteen buckshot having entered at and on each side of his windwipe, and ix of them passing entirely through nd lodging against the skin at the back of his neck.
